Having been founded in 1997, Duchy Farm Kennels is a local, friendly and reliable family-run business managed by Kevin Payne and sons, Daniel and Philip. They produce genuinely fantastic quality craftsman-built dog houses and kennels and are suppliers to a number of well known organisations including Guide Dogs for the Blind, The Police and Prison Service and various animal rescue and security services.

All of the dog houses produced by the team at Duchy Farm Kennels are built using environmentally friendly materials that are guaranteed to be entirely risk-free for your favourite pet.

Every single one of our dog houses and kennels are produced from wood sourced from sustainably managed forests which operate within the approved Forest Stewardship Scheme (FSC). We use specially pressure treated Scandinavian Redwood that undergoes a process called Tanalising before being used in the building of our kennels, catteries and dog houses. This procedure involves impregnating the wood with Tanalith E wood preservative (entirely environmentally friendly) under strictly controlled conditions in a specialist vacuum pressure treated timber impregnation plant. The tanalising safely seals any chemicals present in the timber into the wood so they cannot be extracted.

This gives all the wood used in our dog houses, catteries and hen houses the qualities of a long lasting service life and prolonged protection from insect and fungal attacks. Once the timber has been tanalised no further maintenance is necessary and the wood will weather naturally during the course of its use when exposed to the wind, rain, sun and various other adverse conditions that any high quality outdoor product is expected to cope with.

You need to leave approximately 1' / 30cm along any side of the kennel that is going to be adjacent to a wall or fence but we offer dog houses in a range of sizes ad styles and so are sure we will have something to suit almost any sized plot. We deliver all of our dog houses absolutely free of charge and the cost of constructing the finished structure is included in the initial price.
