All of the timber we use in the construction of everyone one of our dog kennels and runs, catteries and hen houses is absolutely safe for your favourite pet and completely environmentally friendly. We only use wood sourced from sustainably managed forests which operate within the approved strict Forest Stewardship Scheme (FSC). Specially pressure treated Scandinavian timber is used after undergoing a process commonly referred to as Tanalising. This involves impregnating the wood with the specialist Tanalith E wood preservative (100% guaranteed to be environmentally friendly) under rigidly controlled conditions in a specialized treated timber impregnation pressure treatment facility. The entire tanalising process is guaranteed to safely and completely seal any chemicals present in the wood into the timber so they cannot be extracted; offering your pet complete protection from any harmful compounds that may have been present in the materials.

This process of wood treatment gives all the timber used in our dog kennels and runs the qualities necessary for a long lasting service life and offers prolonged protection from insect, fungal and parasite attacks. Once we have tanalised the timber no further protection is required and our dog kennels and runs will weather naturally over its life as it's exposed to the wind, rain, sun and other conditions that any high quality and reliable product designed for outdoor use is expected to cope with.
