Duchy Farm Kennels specialise in creating hand crafted, high quality wooden kennels and also dog houses. Whether they are a standard size wooden kennel or a bespoke design to your own needs and requirements, we can create you a wooden dog kennels to suit your needs. As we are a family owned business we are always passionate that we create the best kennels possible using only the greatest craftsmanship that is available.
We could send the Courier to deliver a pile of Kennel wood to you including a manual for you to sit down and read for hours before you can start the build of your kennel, but we will not do this to our customers we will send a specialist from our team to deliver your product and build it up for you. We want you to relax, with peace of mind knowing that your Cattery has been built and installed the way it should be.
Our wooden kennels range from fitting one dog in the kennel up to being able to house multiple dogs with a kennel bloke with runs. If you need any help deciding what you need or want then don’t hesitate to give us a call and we will do our best to help you make the correct choice for you and your pets.
We also create catteries that are made to the highest quality and that are also hand crafted. The catteries come in various styles and sizes. The kennel are all made from Tanalised timber. We do also deliver and fully erect the Kennel before we leave. If you want a specific size of Kennel we can always try and build to your bespoke requirements. Manufacturing Wooden Kennels
In the manufacturing process of the wooden kennels all the timber that we use are sourced from sustain able managed forests, which operate within the approved Forest Stewardship Scheme, FSC.
About FSC
FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation which is dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. It was founded in 1993 because the public were more and more concerned about deforestation and demanded for a trustworthy wood-labelling scheme.
FSC UK is a registered charity and it’s supported by Non Government Organizations including World Wide Fund for Nature, Greenpeace and the Woodland Trust.
The timber that we use to create our wooden kennels is manufactured with pressure treated wood Scandinavian redwood.
This process is often referred to as Tanalising.
Tanalising involves impregnating with Tanalith E wood preservation which is a new and environmentally friendly product. We do this under controlled conditions in a vacuum pressure timber impregnation plant. When this is impregnated the chemicals will become fixed into this and cannot be removed once in place.
This treatment gives the wood the qualities of a long service life and is a long term protection from fungal and insect attack. The tantalised timber doesn’t need any further maintenance treatment but it will naturally weather over the years to come. This will be caused y the effect of the sun, moisture and wind and any other exterior conditions that are around. You can of course if you wish over treat the Tanalised timber to slow the weathering effect down on the timber.
History of Duchy Farm Wooden Kennels
Duchy Farm Kennels was founded in 1997 by Kevin Payne and his two sons, Philip and Daniel, as a family business. Initially starting out selling garden sheds and wooden fencing panels, but we now major in craftsman built Dog houses.
In 2004, Daniel suggested selling dog houses on the internet and from here the business has never looked back. From primarily being Lincolnshire based, covering the towns and villages in and around Boston and the fenlands, to now supplying the whole of the UK mainland with our great hand crafted dog houses.
The woden kennels and Cattery designs are uniquely designed by Kevin and his sons, in development with customers own personal comments, requirements and feedback from over 10 years, resulting in the ultimate in dog homes and pet homes. Made in the best quality timber from major UK suppliers, sourced from Northern Europe.
If you are looking for the simplest designed dog house or even a state-of-the-art Chalet style dog house, there are a multitude of sizes to suit all dogs from the tiniest Yorkshire Terrier to the largest Great Dane.
We also have a growing reputation for manufacturing catteries, which are made in the same quality timber, with just as much care and attention to detail and these are of similar design to our chicken coop and run, if you so wish to have free range eggs at home!
All of our dog houses range is not only delivered free of charge, but also professionally fitted free of charge. Leaving you secure in the fact your dog houses has been correctly erected and fitted with a strong structure ready to withstand the outside elements whilst protect your dog we believe this is a much better option than having a pallet arrive loaded with pieces of timber and poor instructions.
